Sunday Sketch and a Tanka

Hello sketchers!  This is a drawing of my favorite mug to drink  from.  It’s definitely not as neat as it could be (computer cleaned it up a bit  – but, don’t do as I do, do as I say!  Neatness counts!  When my husband sized it up he asked why the top of the cup was a different shape than the bottom – and that made me scrutinize it closer.  Yep, even with my cock-eyes (one sees things slightly lower – or higher – than the other eye) I could see the curvature was wrong.  So I covered it up with – you guessed it – white-out.  But I really did want to participate today so, here it is.    And here is a tanka to go with it, expressing how I feel about my little angel:

Soft sweet angelic
She’s always there with a smile
Bringing me comfort
Sad angry or hurt inside
Matters not she brings me peace

Have you checked out all the other sketches and WIPs on Blue Chair Diary Illustrations? There is some fine artwork going on!

    • Thank you Nonoymanga. Last week I started to do an anime from one of your lessons but got sidetracked. One of these Sundays though – that is what I am going to do – if you don’t mind?

  1. I am lacking a favorite cup at the moment. Your’s along with the tanka are a wonderful reminder to stay centered. Cute angel drawing and glad to see your post in sunday sketches.

    • I like to pick my cup for the day on how I’m feeling that morning – have a “nurse” bear that I use when I don’t feel good; a little worried, my angel cups. One time (actually several days in a row) I felt drawn to a cup that had a photo of my grand-daughter’s horse on it and I’d mentally send him love. Turns out, at that time, he was being abused and underfed where he was being boarded at the time! I’m happy to say since then my daughter bought a house with enough acreage for their horse to have plenty of room, food, and love.

  2. Thank you. I just realized the last two sketches I’ve done are not “figments of my imagination” (like your pretty little lady) so maybe that’s what I’ll do next time!
