Hello sketchers! This is a drawing of my favorite mug to drink from. It’s definitely not as neat as it could be (computer cleaned it up a bit – but, don’t do as I do, do as I say! Neatness counts! When my husband sized it up he asked why the top of the cup was a different shape than the bottom – and that made me scrutinize it closer. Yep, even with my cock-eyes (one sees things slightly lower – or higher – than the other eye) I could see the curvature was wrong. So I covered it up with – you guessed it – white-out. But I really did want to participate today so, here it is. And here is a tanka to go with it, expressing how I feel about my little angel:
Soft sweet angelic
She’s always there with a smile
Bringing me comfort
Sad angry or hurt inside
Matters not she brings me peace
Have you checked out all the other sketches and WIPs on Blue Chair Diary Illustrations? There is some fine artwork going on!
Cute hand drawn art!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
Thank you Nonoymanga. Last week I started to do an anime from one of your lessons but got sidetracked. One of these Sundays though – that is what I am going to do – if you don’t mind?
Awww…your cup is way too cute! I love it. Well done. 🙂
Thank you Alexandra. It is so much fun taking part in your SS – I look forward to the next Sunday!
That’s a sweet sketch of your sweet mug!
Thank you Christine!
i am going there, at your place with a white mug 🙂
plan what you are going to paint on that.
that tanka is fabulous. 🙂
tanka you 🙂 what do you painted on your mug? 😉
love your drawing and I am cock-eyed too
Thank you louann. And right now besides being cock-eyed I still have a cataract in one eye and my eyes fight to see together!
that is a challenge – one would never know it from your beautiful drawing
i love your sketch!
great solution for the bottom… getting the curves the same is always a challenge… I really like the image on it and the way you have rendered that…xx
I like reading your blog – you give some good helpful little hints and tips (things to think about) to the artist. Thanks for the compliment.
Your sweet mug sketch is very pretty. Perfect is not human. Smile.

I am lacking a favorite cup at the moment. Your’s along with the tanka are a wonderful reminder to stay centered. Cute angel drawing and glad to see your post in sunday sketches.
I like to pick my cup for the day on how I’m feeling that morning – have a “nurse” bear that I use when I don’t feel good; a little worried, my angel cups. One time (actually several days in a row) I felt drawn to a cup that had a photo of my grand-daughter’s horse on it and I’d mentally send him love. Turns out, at that time, he was being abused and underfed where he was being boarded at the time! I’m happy to say since then my daughter bought a house with enough acreage for their horse to have plenty of room, food, and love.
Oh wow! WHAT a cool sketch! I love that you drew one of your favorite pieces – I too have a love affair with some of my mugs – this is very cool, Kristin xo
Thank you. I just realized the last two sketches I’ve done are not “figments of my imagination” (like your pretty little lady) so maybe that’s what I’ll do next time!
