A Mini-Challenge for Sunday ~ Cyhydedd Hir – pronounced cuh-hée-dedd heer.
Mandy
Mandy
She is a sweet thing
Managing to bring
Joy to make me sing
Mandy my dog
Her sport is the ball
Running down the hall
Waiting for my call
Mandy my dog
She jumps up and down
When coming from town
She acts like a clown
Glad to see me
As she gets older
I wish to hold her
Since time is shorter
For me to see
UPDATE: Sweet Mandy passed away a year to the month later. She is so missed!
Sweet words, adorable doggy!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
Thank you Nonoy Manga. She will be 15 years old soon and still likes to show her enthusiasm for play and eating!
How sweet! Every dog deserves a poem written especially for it!
And a cyhydedd hir at that! Do you know if this Welsh poetry form ihas an equivalent to one of the English poetry forms?
Understand completely. My dog turning 18 in a couple of weeks. Well done. k.
That is encouraging! Maybe we will be lucky enough to have Mandy a few more years at least.
She looks like a very sweet old girl, and I agree with Kerry, every dog should have its own poem. Lucky Mandy to have a Cyhydedd Hir!

… Oh! She has the sweetest face. Hold her, she looks like a perfect reading companion!
